My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silva is a gorgeous calico tabby kitten who is just getting used to humans. Her unique colouring makes her quite attractive to people but she's not so sure how she feels about strangers. Her mom is a feral cat so Silva is only just getting used to being handled & picked up. She will need to go to a home with someone who has experience working with under-socialized cats and who can help bring her out of her shell. Silva was in a foster home with other cats, but has no experience with dogs as of yet. She is not comfortable with children.

When Silva was younger she had difficulty walking. Her hind legs splayed out from under her and she primarily used her front legs to pull herself around. Over the last few weeks as her muscles have developed further she has gained more strength & she seems to walk normally. She can run & jump like any other kitten. We don't know what caused Silva to have this problem when she was young; it could have been malnutrition, an injury, or some sort of deformation. It does not appear to be an issue any more and then vet is pleased with her progress, but it will be important for Silva to be an indoor-only cat so that her progress can be monitored. It is also important that her family is prepared for whatever may come in the future. There may never be a problem again, but she may be prone to arthritis or some similar condition in the future.
