My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet amazing Elmer, rescued by his foster from a high kill shelter in Henry County Georgia, Elmer had been at the shelter for three months and totally out of time. His foster mom and dad had been in to visit, spent time with him and knew what an amazing dog he was- so were his advocate on the outside. Enter the RAIN girls to step up and agree to pull him and transport him to the great northwest for his fabulous forever home. Elmer is 11 months old and weighs 56lbs. Foster mom Rosemary has only wonderful things to say about Elmer! He is just such a fun and social boy. He loves the outdoors and loves to be with you. Elmer knows his basic commands and is very affectionate. He is a total "pleaser" listens wells and takes correction well. Foster's say he has a very easy going temperament. How good he is in his crate, perfectly house-trained and great on the leash. He loves all her resident dogs and other fosters, big and small! He LOVES his toys, loves to play and plays very well with others. She says he is not dominant at all. Rosemary doesn't have very young kids, but he has been good around pre-teen grand kids. Like alot of "puppies" he still jumps up a bit, so you'll need to work on that, especially if yours are little. He's not been kitty tested yet, but so far ignores the squirrels and birds in the foster's yard. Elmer is very smart learned to sit and stay very quickly. He would love a fenced yard and a sibling would be great, but not necessary as long as he got out and about with some doggie friends. Elmer is crate trained, but foster mom has left him unsupervised without incident too. Elmer would love some structured play like agility or an obstacle course! He will make a great exercise partner and hiking adventure buddy. He finds tennis balls on his walks and carries them around the neighborhood! Elmer is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is being fostered in the Seattle area and available to meet right away. His adoption fee is $400. Any questions, please email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com or for an adoption application, go to www.raincityrescue.com and choose foster/adopt tab. Don't miss out on this most attractive and intelligent young boys!
