My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Remus and his brother Romulus are little bundles of fun covered in beautiful coats, and what a story they have to tell. Their mama, Rhea, was found in a family's backyard when they came home from a two week vacation. Problem is, the family didn't own a dog! Not only did they find Rhea, but they found her days-old puppies too. Apparently, Rhea had been tossed over their fence when they were not there. Rhea and her two surviving pups were then brought to a shelter and we were happy to take them in. What a joy they have been!

The pups are definitely part Labrador Retriever (his mama also throws in Boston Terrier and maybe a little Pit), most likely mixed with Shar Pei. The two will be medium-sized with short, stubby legs.

These two boys think everyone and everything loves them and wants to play with them. They are definitely rambunctious and have a zest for life. Nothing is worth doing if they don't do it wholeheartedly, right? Remus and Romulus are already crate trained and make it nearly through the night before they let you know they need out to potty.

Remus and Romulus have until around July 28th before they can go to new homes but we are taking applications now from those interested in adopting one of them.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
