My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Schnauzer/Scotty is a favorite of the mixed breed dogs. We all seem to love the combination of the outgoing nature and fun personality of the Schnauzer combined with the smart and intuitive nature of the Scotty. Scooter appears to be a perfect combo of these 2 popular breeds. Scooter's gorgeous charcoal black coat lights up his adorable face. The fuzzy spot of pure white on his chest gives Scooter both an adorable as well as regal look. Scooter is obviously very special...he was chosen from hundreds of dogs currently in the Kansas shelter system. It was all about his temperament...it bought him his ticket to freedom in Colorado. At just about 9 - 12 months old and 11 lbs, Scooter shines with an engaging and incredibly sweet disposition. He is an active guy whose tail never, ever stops wagging. He loves to be included in all fun and would love nothing more than a hike or a neighborhood stroll with his family. He really enjoys gentle, respectful kids and would be an active participant in outdoor games in the yard or a walk to the park. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and would always enjoy a game or a shared walk. Somewhere along the line, we think that Scooter was given love and respect..probably because he's so capable of returning warmth and kindness. Scooter is great to take along anywhere there are groups of dog-loving people. He's a bit shy but always warms up with sweetness and warm hugs.
We feel that Scooter would do well in any home that offered him love, time (long hours left alone at home wouldn't be in the best interest of this social and sensitive guy), appropriate exercise/ mental stimulation and positive reinforcement training to make him the best dog he can possibly be.
Scooter appears to be a non-shedding guy and therefore requires great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his very shiny coat healthy and matt-free.
We've requested that Scooter gets neutered prior to his transport to Denver. If this doesn't occur, we already have an appointment for him to be fixed in Denver. Farfel's would be happy to cover this cost upon his arrival in Colorado.

Scooter will arrive on transport in Colorado on 7/25. If interested in this awesome guy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
