My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JP is an adorable little 8 month old Maltipoo (maltese / poodle mix). He is currently shaved short as his long coat that should have been beautiful was matted and painful on his ears. In a few weeks, he will have that gorgeous coat again. JP ended up at the shelter as a stray. He was very thin and very frightened there. Once out of the shelter, we were able to see JP's personality bloom. He is tiny boy (around 7 lbs) and full of love and energy. JP LOVES to zoom around the house and yard. He is shy of new dogs at first but then loves to play and jump with them. Being a puppy, he does like to chew, so he needs dog appropriate toys and things to play/chew on. JP is considered an hypoallergenic dog so once his coat is long, it won't shed but will need daily brushing to keep it beautiful. True to the breed, JP is a fun-loving, happy dog. Maltipoos can adapt to any kind of home, from an apartment to a house. No matter what their housing, they love being with their people and love children. JP does not like being crated and will bark at first. He would do better with another dog in the home as he hates to be alone. JP is housetrained IF he is kept on a good schedule. As he is a pup, he is still learning and needs work on his manners. If you have room in your home and heart for JP, please apply online at www.codrl.org. JP's adoption fee is $250. Fenced yards will be given priority and no out of state adoptions will be considered without a vet reference.

Central Ohio Dog Rescue is not a shelter. All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and treated as family until they are adopted. We will not ship dogs and all adopters will need to complete an application before meeting one of our dogs. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted out with a spay/neuter agreement and refundable deposit. Dogs/puppies are NOT adopted out of state without a positive vet reference. Prospective adopters must be at least 24 years of age to adopt. All pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and heartworm. We process many applications and may not respond to every applicant. We try to chose the best home for each dog based upon the individual dog's needs. Please check out our website for additional information: www.codrl.org
