Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It seems that everyone loves Beagles. We do...especially if they're as sweet and so very loving as Valerie. She was acknowledged for being exceptional at an extremely high-kill Texas shelter. This is a tough feat considering this facility holds up to 500 dogs on some sad days. Valerie, at 18 - 24 months old and just about 25 lbs is an exceptionally beautiful Beagle. You can tell when you look into her golden eyes that her short life has held sadness and challenges..but she would never be one to carry that around - she's incredibly happy, so engaging and just a positive spirit to spend your time with. Valerie's great energy is contagious...she inevitably brings a smile to all those she encounters. Valerie would be an exceptional family member...she love both humans and other dogs so much that her body starts to wiggle when they're near and a big hug is in the making. Valerie, by her nature is a submissive girl. We would love for her to be in a home with a canine friend, but it would be important that they're mellow and never pushy. Valerie loves to play but a rambunctious dog would scare her, while a like-minded pup would be Valerie's joy. She would fit in with a family that enjoys hiking or similar outdoor adventures. She is more than happy to engage in a walk or play ...and smiles with joy at being included. We feel Valerie would thrive in a family that includes their dog in their lives. We feel strongly that leaving her alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive girl. She's so pleasant...and would be just about perfect with the benefit of positive reinforcement group training classes. We would love a family that would give Valerie the benefit of this type of socialization. Valerie would truly be a gift to any family searching for a playful and extremely devoted pup. .
Valerie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets being set up for this exceptional and devoted companion.
