My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There are many, many Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) lovers in the dog world...it's considered to be one of the most desirable breed mixes. This is due to their consistently great temperaments and intelligence (some would say this is the Poodle's contribution to the mix). There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Mesa is an unusual cream-colored Standard Schnoodle with apricot touches shining through..gorgeous! Mesa is 18 - 24 months old and 42 lbs... and so sweet and affectionate. He seems to have overcome any ill feelings and appears to be at peace regarding the challenges of his early life. The Standard Schnauzer/Standard Poodle mix is a solid combination both physically and in stability of temperament. It is for this reason that they seem to acclimate and be outstanding family members no matter their past lives. It's safe to say that Mesa learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he seems to have derived a true calmness and peace from overcoming the trials of his previous life. We feel strongly that Mesa's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Mesa will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out that he deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. We are searching for committed retirees or a family with older children (12+) who spend lots of time at home as a forever situation for Mesa. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. Mesa reportedly had very little car experience prior to his rescue….now he's growing to be a champ. This skill is easily worked with through crating and treats...especially as he gets the idea that a car ride can mean a walk or a fun day at a dog-friendly spot with his favorite person. We feel that Mesa would enjoy the company of a fun dog-friend but it's not mandatory for his happiness...it's more the companionship of a truly loving guardian. Mesa will return this loyalty and devotion a thousand times over.
Mesa appears to be a non-shedding guy who would look gorgeous with a sudsy bath and grooming. He will require great nutrition and periodic grooming by a calm and loving groomer who appreciates that he's just developing the understanding of the experience. Through baths, consistent haircuts and great nutrition..Mesa will always have a strikingly beautiful coat.
Mesa will arrive on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
