I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
Theodore ("Theo") is a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix. He is 5 years old and 8.5 pounds of energy, love, and joy. Theo is a handsome little guy with big brown eyes and a creamy brown coat. He loves to play with his toys. He is such a character; he needs to have a toy in his mouth when he goes outside. If he is just taking care of his business or going to romp and play with his foster brothers around the yard, he will leave the toy on the ground, but then return to it to bring the toy back in the house with him.
Theo doesn't mind being groomed or brushed, and lets his foster mom wipe his face every day and brush his beautiful coat. He is very good while she gives him his bath and sits still for the little trims she gives him on his face. Theo's former family lived in a condo and he was potty trained on potty pads. His foster mom and dad have been working on teaching him to go potty outside and he is starting to understand the concept. His new family will have to continue in helping him learn to go outside.
Theo is very clever and a great communicator. He will bark appropriately to let you know that he wants to play. He stops barking as soon as the play ensues, and he especially enjoys chasing with a toy in his mouth. He is very good at communicating to his foster parents when a toy goes under something or he needs his food or water bowl filled or just wants to cuddle on your lap with an always present toy in his mouth.
Theo is a delightful little guy. He loves his walks and trips to the pet store, but his favorite thing to do is to sit in his foster dad and mom's lap. He loves to be held and be the focus of attention. Theo is very confident and gets along fine with his foster brothers. He would do well as the only pup in the house or with another pup the same age and size. He is not a good candidate for kenneling or any type of confinement.
Theo is current on all his vaccinations, neutered, and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $289.64 ($270 + $19.64 tax). His foster parents prefer that his forever home be within 25 miles of the Twin Cities and that his new family attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion each June.
If you are interested in making Theo a part of your family, before contacting Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota please read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html first to help you understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption.
