My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The very first thing that Rita, the gorgeous Cockapoo (This photo definitely doesn't do this sweet girl justice!) wants to make clear is that she's a LOVE! Her adorable little nose sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch - and then before you know it, Rita is in your lap. She's so happy there because her human relationships are so important to her. This 2.5 - 3 year old, 16 lb Cocker/Poodle mix truly lights up when she feels like she's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send her over the moon. Rita can become a bit overwhelmed by rowdiness and very loud voices...therefore a family with very young children will not be considered. We envision Rita with a retired couple or individual who want an adorable young dog as a family member and companion. She would be so excited to spend her days in the company of her people....she's quiet and mellow enough to while away her afternoon snoozing on the couch or would be just as happy to go for a long, leisurely walk on mountain trails....just as long as she's with her family. She would also be a perfect office dog in a dog-friendly workplace....she would be so well behaved and respectful (as long as she can sleep on your feet...great foot warmer) Rita can have moments of shyness from the turmoil that has been in her life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great pup past any insecure feelings and let her know she is loved and will never be abandoned. Rita, as a Cockapoo, is considered to be a non-shedding breed cross...she will therefore require periodic grooming as well as great nutrition to keep her cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free.
Rita is arriving on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this kind and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
