Xander's Story...
Have you met Xander? One of our three Buffy the Vampire Slayer pups, this little guy was saved from the Chicago Animal Care and Control Center shortly after contracting deadly parvo. Luckily, we got him and his sisters out just in time and now Xander is ready to find his forever how.

Xander is a doll. Although he is young, he is showing some great puppy behavior. Nothing too wild, totally mellow. He's also quite clever. He's already learned how to use a pee pad, walk gently on his leash, and knows how to trust his humans and other dogs around him.

When he's not learning new tricks, he is bouncing around, playing gently with his toys, or chowing down on his favorite foods. This guy is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. He would love to find a new home that will give him some more confidence and show patience as he works on his training!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xander, a Chicago Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
