Sharon is a joy to be around. We love her here at Leighton Farm. She is one of those horses that makes you smile each time you see her. She is far cuter than her pictures convey. As a racehorse, Sharon was a war horse, racing 41 times and finishing in the money 18 of those times to make $132,570 for her connections. It’s safe to say that Sharon gave all she had, ending her career with a torn suspensory. She is now in rehab at Leighton Farm and we are seeking a forever home for this wonderful girl.

Sharon stands 15.2 hands, has no vices and is as polite and easy as a horse could possibly be. She will heal and be suitable as a trail/pleasure – and what a pleasure – horse. Sharon has no vices and gets along well with others. She absolutely loves people and attention. Did I mention how cute she is?

I know whoever ends up with this beautiful girl is going to be so glad she came into their life. I know I am. If you are looking for an extremely special horse, please contact me about Sister Sharon. Come and meet her, you’ll be glad you did.

Sharon is located at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Please contact me for more information. Adoption fee $300.

Our Adoption Process...

We rehome an average of 50 horses per year. Adopters are required to fill out a reference application and be approved to adopt. Horses are posted on the TPR website and advertised on many websites. Our adoption contract gives TPR a right of first refusal if the horse is ever rehomed, has a no breeding clause and a no racing clause. Our base adoption fee is $300, some horses that are in the retraining program or are assisted placements can be more - it is clearly listed in their description.
