My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there!! My name is Alice! I am only 9 months old and I weigh about 45 lbs.
I have been here at the shelter since July! My heart is aching and I am losing hope that there is a home out there waiting to welcome me to their family.
I have watched so many of my friends find their new homes but I am still here waiting.
I do have a lot of energy, but I truly am a great girl. I just need to be able to have a place to exercise. Once I get to play for just a little bit I am a really good girl!
I got to go to an adoption event in September and I was an absolute delight! I was happy, quiet, had great manners and I was very easy to handle. My tail wagged at every single person I seen while I was there, the same as it does at the pound.
I get along great with the other dogs here at the pound! I get to go outside in the play yard with one of the large play groups (usually with 6-12 other dogs) to play.
So I guess you're wondering what potential "issues" I must have with having been here as long as I have... the truth is that I was VERY skinny when I came in to the pound, so understandably, I do guard my food from the other dogs. I haven't tried to bite people over my food.
The solution for this is pretty simple. I just need fed separately. Also, if my new family has other dogs, it would be a great idea not to give me high priority items while I am with the other dogs "just in case".
I am still VERY young and resource guarding is something that can be resolved with a savvy owner, so please don't pass me up just 'cause I don't want to share my food. It's comparable to a stranger on the street walking up and taking food off of your plate. Can you blame me?
I promise I am a great girl and all I want is a chance!
I'm so sad that all of my friends are getting adopted and I am stuck here day after day, week after week, month after month watching everyone BUT me get adopted!
If you adopt me, I hereby promise to be the best dog I can possibly be, love you unconditionally and give you lots of kisses!!
Xoxo,
Alice aka Allie Cat!

**Update** I have received a full $110 thanks so much to Rocky and Erin!!
Please note that sponsorships are for approved rescues only and they do not apply to private adopters or unapproved rescue groups.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER JULY 22, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
