Playful, loving and handsome are just some of the adjectives to describe Maximo! He loves to play with toys and especially likes to retrieve and then play tug-o-war; he has a special toy for this that he drags with him most places. At approximately 2 years of age, he has plenty of energy and is quite strong though he has learned "down" and doesn't overwhelm his visitors. We believe he is a Boxer/Hound mix. He may even be part Rhodesian Ridgeback for he has a "mohawk" on the back of his neck. Max is learning how to walk on a leash, come when his name is called and is anxious to please his human visitors. He gets along with other dogs, has ignored the family cats, but does love to chase chickens. Because he is easy to exercise with his retrieving, he is suited to a smaller yard. Max weighs 62 lbs. now, but was removed from a horrible small pen with no shelter, no shade, no water, no food and weighed only 40 lbs.
