My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET LUCKY LENNY -

Good luck comes in all shapes and sizes. For this sweet little puppy, good luck came in the form of a volunteer from Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. LUCKY LENNY was lucky twice. Not only was he rescued by volunteers who LOVE all Dachshunds, he was also the runt of his litter born of a backyard breeder, and he is the only one to have survived. LUCKY LENNY is a 14 week old, white Dapple Dachshund puppy. He weighs only six (6) pounds and has one green eye and one blue. LENNY has very little sight in his right eye, but his left eye is fine and his hearing is great! He is very shy, has some trust issues and can really only be adopted to a doxie savvy home with a family who has folks who stay home with him all the time, and only older children. Despite his sad start, LUCKY LENNY has huge amounts of potential and full of love and affection. What do you think? Are you his forever family? Can we make LENNY three times LUCKY?

NOTE FROM ODR, INC. – Lucky Lenny has had his second round of puppy shots, had a full exam, vibrantle and a flea treatment.

UPDATE FROM LUCKY LENNY's FOSTER FAMILY: LENNY is very sweet, likes to play with other dogs and goys. He is a great eater. He tends to be a bit of a barker because of his sight issues. LENNY loves to go outside and to cuddle. He learns fast and is working on his manners and his leash work.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted with flea treatment, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give LUCKY LENNY a happy, carefree life? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
