My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 1-year-old spayed female Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. I weight about 7 pounds. I know you're probably thinking, "oh, another little dog." But let me tell you, I am not just another little dog, I'm the best little dog! I'm totally, utterly adorable and I have a winning personality to match. I'm playful, loving, gentle, and oh-so-silly! I'm always happy and my tail never stops wagging. I have had a bit of a rough past, but it hasn't brought me down at all. You want to know what happened to me? Grab a tissue because I'm about to make you tear up. So, I came from the streets of Mexico. Ensenada to be exact. Not such a nice place for a stray pup like me. I spent most of my days hiding under a car just trying to stay alive. One morning a woman walked by and noticed me under a car. I had no food or water, but she wasn't sure if I had an owner or not so she didn't want to take me away. She promised me that she would be back that evening and if I was still there she would bring me home with her. Guess what? She came back for me and I was there. Still no food or water in sight. While we were driving to her house she told me a bunch of stories about the other dogs that she has rescued. Apparently, she does this all the time. Takes in strays, vaccinates them, and houses them until a new family can be found. I was so glad she found me. She introduced me to the other female dogs that lived there and we all became great friends. I stayed with her for awhile and during that time I had one puppy. Maybe I should have mentioned to her that I was pregnant. Things were going well for me and my puppy. He seemed healthy and happy, but then everything changed. A day before he was supposed to turn 2 months old he passed away. No one knows why. I was pretty devastated. I felt like I had failed at being a momma. My rescuer assured me that it wasn't my fault. She said that he probably didn't get everything he needed while in the womb due to me being a stray. There was a light at the end of the tunnel though. Shortly after losing my little boy, I, along with my other friends, were told that we would be moving to California. We all made the trip to West LA together. When we showed up at CageFree we were bathed, treated for fleas and ticks, and were given our own comfy crates while we waited for our evaluation. Once it was determined that we weren't sick we were allowed to join the rest of the dogs on the playground. It's been tons of fun hanging out with all my friends, new and old, but I am definitely looking forward to finding my forever home. I'm hoping that I have better luck here in Los Angeles. Someone out there has to want the most amazing little dog ever, right? If you think you are the one for me, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to schedule a time to meet me!
