My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Morgan is a gentle, friendly, even-tempered boy who loves people. He is a sensitive dog who would not do well with harsh discipline but would thrive in a positive and caring atmosphere. He is a very loyal dog who needs a family that will treat him as a respected member and include him in family activities. He has a big heart and a warm, loving demeanor. Morgan is a young dog approximately a year old and currently weighs 47 lbs.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Morgan absolutely loves riding in cars, he enjoys sticking his head out the window at times and taking in all the sites, sounds and smells. He is also very relaxed among other dogs, even if they become anxious/excited around him. When he is happy and his tongue is out, he looks like he has the biggest grin on his face. He is a great dog but still has a bit to learn. He is getting better with training, and with a loving home he would have no problem becoming a new member to any family.

Although we haven't had Morgan around a lot of children he has been friendly with all of the people we have introduced him to. He is affectionate with other people, sometimes a little too much when he tries to jump up, after the initial meeting though he becomes more relaxed and has had no issues around people. He is fine with other dogs but we haven't had him around cats. Morgan has a moderate amount of energy. Some days if he has been in his kennel for a while he is full of energy, other days when he's been outside for a while he is content to curl up on the couch and nap the rest of the day away.

He has been perfect in the house, barking has been no issue, both in and out of the kennel. Living in an apartment I have had no complaints about noise. He has toys that he always chews on and there has been minimal issue with him chewing on anything else. (Sometimes he will grab stray socks). He knows sit, come, and leave it, and we are working on down for when he jumps up (making progress). He is fully house trained. He will tug on his leash by the door when he needs to go out, or sit by the door and give a small bark. He is leash trained. No problems walking him. In a big backyard he will explore, but never goes more then 40 feet from myself. Absolutely loves riding in cars, either head out the window or sleeping.

Morgan has been an extremely affectionate dog, who loves nothing more than to curl up beside you or play with his toys. He still needs a little bit of training but he is well on his way to becoming a great companion. If my current situation allowed, I would adopt this dog.

Morgan would definitely require a decent sized backyard. A family with kids a bit older may be better suited then one with younger kids, at least until he is a bit more trained. He loves going for walks, so a home that can provide him with an adequate amount of time to go for walks is really important. Someone looking for a dog who loves to play but is also able to be calm after a good walk, would love to have Morgan in their family.

If you believe Morgan would be the right fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
