Misha's Story...

Misha is a very quiet long-haired manx girl. About 7 years old, she's had a rough life through no fault of her own. Once owned and loved and pampered, she was given up to the humane society where she was adopted by a Stanford student to become her adored therapy cat, and a wonderful therapy cat she was. However, the student had to return home and couldn't bring her cat overseas and gave her up to the Network.

She is an absolutely sweetheart and would make another wonderful therapy cat, or a loving companion for somebody who needs pure affection and adoration.

Misha needs daily medicine for arthritis and hyperthyroidism. The Network is currently running a fund-raiser to treat her hyperthyroidism - please let us know if you can help.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Misha, a Stanford Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Stanford, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Stanford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Stanford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Stanford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Stanford paves the way for another one to be saved.
