My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All potential adopter’s will need to be approved to adopt from MWBCR and should visit our website at www.mwbcr.org for more information on the approval process.

Meet Cooper, a male Border Collie approximately one year old. Cooper is about 21" high and weighs 47 pounds. His age was estimated based on the lack of chest bulk and his gorgeous white teeth. And, of course, his young dog silliness.

There are actually two Coopers. The first is the sweet, adoring, affectionate cuddler who wants nothing more than to be petted and hugged and to please. The second is the teenage goof with a lack of manners, boundless energy and a sheer joy for life.

Both Coopers are endearing, and the second is often a hoot, but the first just makes you go "awwwwww".

Cooper was dumped/found in Kentucky and a wonderful woman took him in and rather than turn him into a shelter, many of which are "kill shelters", she started a search for a Border Collie rescue. Bless her for saving the life of this precious boy.

Cooper is neutered and fully vetted, is wonderful in a crate, in the car, and is learning inside manners. He learns quickly and is doing well with leash training, sit, down and off. With continued training and maturity, he will make someone a loving companion.

Now a few words from the Coop himself.....

Hi! Wow, what an adventure I'm having. First of all, I took a long car ride and ended up in northeastern Illinois where I'm staying with my foster mom and two lovely Border Collies girlies. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, are they cute!!! But, for some reason, the older one doesn't like me (what is not to like????!!!!) and the younger one is too fast to catch. I also have a best bud next door who I like to play with. We do "guy stuff", but he won't let me chase him -- kind of a bummer.

I love, love, love people. Female people, male people, little people - EVERYONE!!! I like to get as close to them as possible and adore them while they pet me. I love, love, love to get petted and to have belly rubs. OMG, those belly rubs are the best.

I was kind of scared of this place at first and wanted to spend a lot of time in my crate which I love, but now I'm not so scared and my foster mom says I can start going places with her and meet more people Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy....more adventures to come......

Cooper will be ready for adoption after August 6, 2014. For more information, contact Bonnie.
