Oscar's Story...
7.25.14. Oscar Wire was found in an over crowded rural Ohio dog pound...Space is needed for new dogs coming in and Oscar's hold time was up = Dogworks accepted Oscar into rescue....We believe Oscar to be 9-10 mos old, Possibly Wirehaired Pointing Griffon mix --- maybe with Lab retriever...Best guess for now. Currently Oscar weighs 55 lbs and is still growing. Beautiful handsome boy -- gorgeous golden eyes....wire hair and long tail (not docked). Friendly, happy boy. Seems fine with other dogs and visiting children. Cats unknown... Needs work on leash walking, sleeps in crate without difficulty, needs work on commands..... we are still learning about Oscar....
Adoption fee includes: exam, neuter, vaccine update, heartworm check (prevention started) and G.I. de-wormer. Adoption fee $160. For application or questions, please visit www.DogworksOhio.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Toledo Wirehaired Pointing Griffon/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon/Labrador Retriever for sale in Toledo, or seeking a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Toledo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toledo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toledo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wirehaired Pointing Griffon/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Wirehaired Pointing Griffon/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toledo paves the way for another one to be saved.
