Charlie is a 5-year-old male rabbit who is constantly donning an adorable expression. He is a little slow to trust, but quickly comes around, especially when it comes to outdoor playtime. Charlie would love to find a bunny wife around his age to enjoy life with. He likes to play, explore, and run the bunny 500 when given adequate room. Don't miss out on this cutie today!

Sadly, despite Charlie's cuteness, his former owner did not bring him off to college with her. People often get rabbits for their young children and, when the children get older, the rabbit is either left at a shelter/rescue or abandoned in some way. As a rescue, our hope is to educate people about the responsibilities and joys of rabbit ownership. Little Charlie spent most of his time in a plastic bottom cage (likely bought when he was a baby bunny) for the 5 years of his life; often, people buy starter kits from pet stores for rabbits--these enclosures are not suitable for a rabbit after a few short weeks of their life. We recommend enclosures that are at least 3 times the size of the rabbit, such as dog exercise pens or DIY rabbit condos! Contact us today for more info on rabbit care!

The South Florida Rabbit Rescue independently operates out of private foster homes, where our volunteers treat fosters as a part of their family (we currently do not have a primary facility). This gives us the opportunity to truly know our bunnies' personalities inside and out--so we can make the perfect recommendation for you! We will spend as much time with you as you need in order to make the right decision for you and your entire family. We want you to take your bunny home feeling happy, confident in your ability to take care of him/her, and knowing that you always have a friend in us. The South Florida Rabbit Rescue has a large community of local bunny lovers/fosters/volunteers/rescuers/adopters that get together and share their common love for rabbits.

All of our rabbits live in INDOOR foster homes and are socialized and/or rehabilitated, litter trained, and spayed/neutered. The adoption donation for a single rabbit is $75 and a bonded pair is $95. The adoption donation helps cover a vet visit and their spay/neuter. Adopting a rescued rabbit is a good decision for a number of reasons; for example, sadly, pet stores buy baby bunnies--many of whom are sick--from breeders, where rabbits may be housed and cared for inhumanely. All of our rabbits see a vet before going to their forever homes! Please learn about proper rabbit care before deciding to add a rabbit to your family. Rabbits are NOT easy, low maintenance pets, nor are they "starter pets" for kids.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Boynton Beach Dwarf Hotot was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dwarf Hotot for sale in Boynton Beach, or seeking a Dwarf Hotot from a breeder in Boynton Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boynton Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boynton Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dwarf Hotot breeders who help with Dwarf Hotot rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boynton Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
