Are you looking for a beautiful cat to keep you company? I’m Tres, and I may just be the perfect girl for you! In 2013, I was left at Maxfund with my two sisters. I’ve been wishing for a good home ever since. Life here has been pretty hard at times, but I always try to hope for the best.

Take a look at my pictures and you’ll know that I’m an unusual and pretty cat. I have long black fur, and I love to have it brushed and groomed. I also have lovely green eyes and a little white ‘scarf’ on my chest.

I love to play with toys and still possess plenty of energy, which I sometimes need to keep up with Dos and Tres! I enjoy sitting in windowsills, taking long naps, and being petted by visitors and volunteers. And, although I’ve had a hard life, I am very friendly with everybody, including people and the cats in my room. Only time will tell if I’ll be able to get along with dogs, but I am a pretty patient cat.

Next time you visit Maxfund, be sure to stop by and chat with me. I can’t wait to get to know you!

About MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees:

Cats: $25
Kittens (under 12 months): $75
Dogs: $125
Puppies (under 6 months) $200
Dogs over 8 years: $75

All applicants will be asked to submit the names and phone numbers of 3 personal references (relatives don't count), the name and phone number of your veterinarian if you have one, the name and phone number of your landlord (if applicable) and information about your current living situation. We also require that all immediate family members meet the animal prior to adoption to ensure compatibility. We would hate to adopt an animal into a family and later find out the dog doesn't like the kids or the husband doesn't like the animal, etc. You can print out an application on our website at

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have filled out an application, MaxFund will ask you to bring any currently owned dogs to the shelter for a “meet-and-greet” to ensure they can stand each other before they become a family. Because we examine adoption applications carefully and contact all references, same-day adoptions are extremely rare and should not be expected!
