Facts about Britni

  • Breed: Brittany/Pointer Mix
  • Color: White - With Brown Or Chocolate
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Britni was found In February of 2014 in pretty bad shape with mange. Britni is about a four years old, 35-40 lbs, and is thought to be a spaniel/pointer/lab mix. She is a sweetheart, very friendly, and loves other dogs. She is a lot of fun! She LOVES water, she also loves to hide things. She gets along good with other dogs and loves to run - she is very active. Britni is also a talker! She does an adorable little howl to greet her fosters every day. She would do best with an active person, or someone with a big yard for her to play. If you are interested in meeting Britni please fill out an adoption application online at forgottendogs.org/adopt/application or email her foster mom at kellek-9@peoplepc.com - and be sure to specify Britni. Thanks!

About Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue in an historical area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project November of 2011 to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray, abandoned, and neglected dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with access to free spay/neuter and rabies vaccinations. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field to strays that we can not immediately pick up. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 1,000 dogs, and a few cats, from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Our Adoption Process...

You can find our adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adopt/application/. Our adoption fees are $150 for adult dogs ages 2 and older and $175 for puppies up to 2 years old (plus an additional spay/neuter deposit on those that are too young at the time of adoption: $75 local, or $250 for long-distance adoptions). Long distance adoption transportation costs vary based on size/weight/breed of the individual dog being adopted. We have an adoption application and contract. All animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, if old enough, or, for young puppies, arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
