Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bbeuni (pronounced "Boonie") is a 4 year old, black-and-tan brindle greyhound mix (she is shaped like a Pharaoh dog) who weighs 47 lbs. She was adopted by her current owner’s son in South Korea after being rescued from the streets. Koreans are not fond of dogs and they generally live outside and often die of exposure while waiting in a shelter. Her adopter was not allowed to keep Bbeuni in his apartment, and he sent her home to his mom two years ago.
Bbeuni is a very energetic and gets very excited at the sight of a leash; it can be challenging to clip the leash to her collar. When she is outdoors she sprints like a greyhound. She is housebroken and crate-trained; she doesn’t mind her crate especially if she anticipates a dog biscuit or peanut butter in her Kong.
She lies down when her food dish is placed in front of her, and will "talk" and wait to eat until she is told "Bon appetit!" She loves car rides, lying in the sun on the deck, and especially cuddling with her person. She is happy and very loving. Bbeuni spends a lot of time in her fenced yard outside; she doesn’t get a lot of leash walks and so she is working on leash manners – she pulls hard on leash so a new owner will have to work on this training with her. She will chase little varmints that enter her yard. She lives with another dog but has no experience with cats to our knowledge.
Bbeuni is fond of children of all ages, although she can be too energetic for some toddlers. She plays relentlessly with other young, high-energy dogs. She shows no aggression toward people or other dogs, and has no food aggression.
Bbeuni has excellent medical records and is up to date on everything. She takes glucosamine daily, as she had hip surgery and exhibits mild lameness on that leg.
Bbeuni’s mom is retiring to Florida and can not take her canine buddy with her. She feels Miss Bbeuni needs a home with people who will love her and spend time with her because she is highly intelligent and a quick learner. She is great with new people and has good manners with humans.
We feel that Bbeuni would do best with a fenced yard because she loves to run but has the hound nose that takes her on unscheduled adventures occasionally. Our volunteers met her and thought she was just the sweetest dog and deserving of a wonderful forever family!
To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup Rescue, www.luckypuprescue.org, or request an application via email, luckypuprescue@yahoo.com.
Please note, we do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
