Penny's Story...
I hate to sound conceded, but I am perfect. Sweet, gentle, quiet and affectionate. I do great with children of all ages, other dogs and cats. I am housebroken, crate trained and intelligent. My last family loved me so much, they got me when I was just a baby from a breeder ( I was supposed to be a purebred Siberian Husky, but we can see that isn't so). It i easy to see why they loved me so much and it made us all very sad that they could not keep me. But I am sure that I can find a wonderful new family that will love me just as much and keep me forever and ever. 10 months old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; current shots, microchip, spay, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area), 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Portland Husky/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Greyhound for sale in Portland, or seeking a Husky/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Greyhound breeders who help with Husky/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
