My name is Charlie, and boy, do I have a story to tell you! Unfortunately, I can’t tell my foster mom where I came from or what my life was like before I was found by a nice lady in the Maple Creek area. My foster mom thinks that I am approximately a year old, a Husky cross, and have endured some unkind treatment in my short life.
I was very timid and sad at first. I am still learning to trust humans, as well as all the things they want me to do! I have learned to get into a car without feeling strange about it. I love going for walks. And since I am so skinny, I enjoy whatever food is put in front of me. I have tons of energy, and definitely need a very active family who can take me out for a long walk or good run every day, possibly several times a day. I would enjoy living on an acreage or farm where I can let my energy out. At the minimum, I need a house with a good sized backyard to let me roam and explore a bit. I am curious and active, do well around other dogs, and even around birds, without giving chase. I like to jump at those silly flies though!
I am now up to date on my vaccinations and soon to be neutered. I occasionally feel unsure of all these new changes in my life and can sometimes make this known to my foster mom by showing off my Husky howl. Once I feel more secure and trusting, this will stop, I promise! I am looking for a forever family who will show me kindness, love and obedience that I lost out on in my first year of life!
