My story

Scooter's adoption fee is $350.

“Scooter, Scootman, Hey You!” I don`t care what you call me, as long as you call me yours! My proper name is Scooter and I am a 4 year old love-bug. I can be shy or timid for a few seconds in new situations but I do basically love people (children, adults, and seniors were all created to love me, right?) and I love to be with humans (I do like other Dachshunds too). I tend to hide behind my foster mom until I check out new situations, but it usually takes me just a few seconds to get used to new things. My history is a bit of a mystery. My foster mom has deduced that people were likely not always kind to me but my known story starts just a few months ago. A family bought me on kijiji and had just started to love me when I injured my back. They were not able to care for me during crate rest and so they surrendered me to the folks at Tiny Paws. My back completely healed with the crate rest and I am 100% recovered. The only thing I need to be careful of is avoiding stairs or jumping down from furniture. I need people to carry me up and down - a human elevator if you will (I weigh about 19 pounds). I can walk, run and do all the normal doggie things. I have great fun running and playing with all the other Dachshunds in my foster home. If you are looking for years of love, companionship and unfailing devotion, then I am your boy! I can be your only one, or have fur-siblings as well.
