My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CAESAR is an 8 year old yellow neutered male Lab who weighs 73 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray… second time showing up there since 2007. He’s ready for a home that wants him at home! He's a sweet and happy boy! He loves attention, affection and treats and is happy to be with you! He's approved for kids aged 10+. More info on him soon!

Update *8/31): Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears. Caesar is here and wants you to know he is waiting for his forever home. He arrived at LR as a stray and is a very handsome, 8 yr old (71 lb) yellow lab. Caesar is one of the most calm, mellow and low (no) maintenance dogs imaginable. He loves strolling around the backyard, sniffing around and rolling on his back on the grass. He loves to lie by your feet while you read or watch tv. He has not bothered anything in the house, stays off the furniture and shows no interest in the kitchen counters or trash can. He does not bark, beg or whine for food and takes treats very gently. He walks well on a leash, enjoys leisurely walks and greeting human and canine neighbors. He was extremely gentle when he met the yorkie across the street who is smaller than Caesar's head! He paused to observe a few squirrels but ignored them and continued his walk. We have not yet met cats. While offered a variety of pillows and doggie beds, Caesar chose to sleep on the floor at the foot of the bed. He is houset rained. Though he appears to be a little stiff in the joints while rising, he is able to go up and down a full flight of stairs without a problem. He would be a most loyal, faithful companion.

From LR evaluator: I met this amazing boy last night. Passed his food and dog-to-dog tests with flying colors. He walks well on a leash and LOVES to roll in the grass. He very much enjoys belly rubs and is not jumpy at all. He did well with handling, a little hand shy at first, but he warmed up soon, welcomed and gave attention. Once he settled he became more hands on. I think he would make a great couch/snuggle buddy for someone who is mellow. Caesar is quite underweight and hungry. Currently feeding him three meals a day, but he could not get enough treats from me. :) His eyes are bright, too!

From LR transporter: Caesar rode very well – hardly a sound from him. For 8 years, he is very spry! Got out of car and up the stairs at vet with plenty of energy. Knows “sit” and takes treats gently.
