My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shannon has had a rough year. She was found with a pelvis that had been broken in four places. Not only that, she was severely underweight, skittish, and had difficulty walking. Fast forward a few months, and she is a new dog! Shannon has gained a lot of strength in her back legs. While surgery was not an option for her to correct the poorly healed breaks, just putting on some muscle mass and gaining strength through hydrotherapy has made a big difference. Shannon now loves going on long walks (she can easily do two miles). Her gait will always be 'off', but it doesn't slow her down - It's actually adorable. She is able to run and wrestle with other dogs and enjoys her daily walks and trips to the dog park. Shannon is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and would be very happy in a home with a canine companion for her to play with. She is a happy girl, who thrives on affection. She is wonderful with children (very patient and gentle). She walks well on a leash, is cat friendly, house broken and crate trained. She also knows how to sit and is working on down and high five. She is eager to please and trains easily.

Shannon needs a special home. While her pelvis does not bother her or require further treatment, she will need a home that understands the importance of daily exercise. In order to maintain good mobility, she will need daily walks, in order to keep up the muscle mass she has built.

Shannon is only 1.5 years old and deserves a home where she will be pampered and loved. She has lots of love to give in return.
