Emma's Story...
Emma is a 3 year old petite, sweetest ever, pit bull. She was picked up as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter, and when her owners were notified she was there and that she was injured, they just left her there. Emma was brought into rescue and taken to the vet where it was determined her pelvis had been broken in 3 places. Thankfully, she has made a full recovery. Emma is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs and 5 children under the age of 14. She loves children and would thrive in a home with them. The 4 year old says Emma loves to give kisses and cuddles. She co-exists with the other dogs but doesn't like the rough housing they do and tries to break up the fun. She is very content hanging out with the oldest human child in her room and pretending to be the only dog. Emma can go into a home that prefers to not crate as she doesn't make messes, is house broken and is beyond the puppy chewing stage. She does like to lay on the furniture and would prefer a house that allows her to sleep with her kids. Emma loves to travel. In her time with her foster mom she has made several cross country trips and loves every minute of it. Emma is spayed, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, micro-chipped, and heartworm negative. She is kept on flea and heartworm preventative. If interested in this girl please fill out an application and put "Emma" in the notes section. Her foster mom would be more than happy to answer any more questions you may have about her

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
