My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Digger is a cuddly boy who loves being with his people, going for runs and playing with his toys. He takes a minute to warm up but once he knows you are safe he is your best friend. He likes being with people but is fine left on his own to amuse himself. He is a different looking dog but don't let his size full you as he can keep up with the big dogs. Digger is approximately 3 - 4 years old although he seems younger and currently weighs 35 lbs.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Digger is a wonderful companion. When you call him to come to you or you come home from work he will run to you with his tail just a wagging. He is friendly with just about everyone. He is okay with other dogs but likes to have a chance to get to know them. He is not good with cats and will chase them. He loves being with people and getting lots of attention.

I have been working with Digger on his basic obedience and he has picked things up quickly and now knows sit, come, and up (like sitting beside you on furniture, but he will only go on any furniture when is is commanded to). He is house trained although we do pick his water up at 9 pm. He is also crate trained and has no issue going in his crate at night or when we are gone during the day. He is always quiet in the home and would be fine in an apartment but would prefer to have a backyard to run around and play in. He is pretty good on leash but will still pull when he sees a squirrel or something else to chase.

Digger would be good with someone that likes to jog or roller blade as he loves to run. He does act like a much younger dog and has lots of energy for playing games. He also loves to be cuddled and follow you around. He is fine to be left on his own for a normal working day without any issues. He would be okay with another friendly dog in the home but would prefer to have all the attention for himself. He is fine on his own and can easily amuse himself with his toys.

He is a very affectionate, cuddly dog. He would do well in just about any home but would probably be best with adults only or older children that could play and take him for walks. He would enjoy a backyard to play in but would be fine in an apartment as long as he was getting enough exercise. He is not destructive at all in the home and does steal food but he will sniff around the garbage if you leave it out.

If you think Digger would be a good choice for your situation, please submit an application for consideration.
