Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Luna! This girl's impressive ears and positive energy will always make you smile. Considering Luna's happy demeanor, you would have never guessed what a long road she's had. She originally came to the shelter in 2013 after she followed someone home from their walk. From the beginning, Luna had really never met a stranger! It was apparent that she had had puppies, but the officers looked over and could not find a single one, indicating that her owners had probably bred her and then abandoned her. Luna was emaciated and heartworm positive, yet still she never held it against a soul! Now that she has been living in her foster home she is happier and healthier than ever! As you can see from the video this girl is content simply rolling around in the grass, but she also LOVES rawhides. She is not above looking at you pathetically until you give her one! Luna is also extremely intelligent and quickly learned her house manners, including potty-training, kenneling, sit, stay, off, etc. This girl is ready to learn much more for her new family!
At almost 4 years, Luna weighs in around 60lbs. Her skinny days are definitely over and she could probably lose a few pounds now! She has, fortunately, tested negative for heartworms, so an active family with a fenced in backyard and lots of love to give would be ideal! Luna is still learning to take social cues from other dogs, but with proper introductions she could be a good playmate. Luna absolutes LOVES children, though, so two-legged siblings would be great! All this girl really needs is a family as special as she is to love her forever!
All dogs in our program are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and given a physical by a veterinarian prior to adoption.
Luna is currently in foster care so, if interested, please email us today!
