Althea's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Althea's Story...
Althea is a 4 month old sheltie/hound mix female. She's sweet (although a little shy at first). She loves to sit on your lap while your driving giving off great co-pilot suggestions as you drive. She's sweet, loves the company of all ... cats, kids, dogs and adults. Won't you consider giving her a forever home?

If you are interested in this sweet girl, please send an email to sweetest dog rescue@gmail.com, and ask that an adoption application be sent to you.

Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Althea, a Shelter Island Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Shelter Island, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Shelter Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelter Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelter Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelter Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
