My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Steve!

I'm a Schnauzer mix and I'm a goofy fellow! I'm pretty young (2-3 years old) and still act like a puppy sometimes-- I love to play with toys and sometimes I carry my foster mom's things around...oops.

But I love my three foster brothers and they love me. I am not aggressive in any way towards people or animals; I pretty much love everyone and everything. I give lots of kisses and I even give hugs when I sit up and put my paws around your shoulders. It's pretty cute.

I've met a cat once and I barked a lot, though, so I don't know how I would be in a house with cats. I definitely love kids though! I'm pretty good on a leash, I like going in my crate, and I'm almost entirely house-trained. I'm learning quickly though!

My foster mom and dad have been working with me on my manners and training. I am fully vetted, weigh about 22 lbs, and even though I have long legs, I'm still a pretty small dog. My ears are the biggest thing about me!

I need a family who will be home a lot, because I get really sad when I am left alone for long periods of time. Right now, I stay in a crate from around 9-noon, then my foster mom comes home and takes me outside for awhile. Then I'm allowed to stay loose in the house from around 1:30 to 5 with my foster brothers.

My foster parents have learned that I can jump pretty high, because I've been known to get things off the dresser or the counter...like hoagie buns. They were delicious! Overall, I have lots to offer to a family-- I'm a great blend of being snuggly and loving to play! (PS- my foster mom and dad let me sleep in the bed and I love it!)

Steve is fostered by Beth in Columbus OH. His adoption fee is $300
