My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moscatto: A volunteer writes, " I took Moscatto out of her kennel after being in there for almost 20 hours and after we walked for about 5 minutes, I sat down with her and stroked her head a few times and within minutes, she curled up on my lap and fell fast asleep." This is the essence of this sweet dog---she has clearly been used by someone to breed and make a quick buck and now find herself living in a shelter so her time with people is precious and she enjoys it so much.

The good news is that our little red beauty also has a secret: She is smart as a whip and can play fetch with a tennis ball like no other dog we have!!! When we had out kiddie pools out- she would dive in to get the ball and have such a blast that volunteers requested her specifically because she is such a special, smart girl.

From what the first volunteer described, Moscatto does not enjoy the noise and confinement of the kennel and is not able to relax very much which is why she does choose to just cuddle with a volunteer on some days. Although she buddy walks with a few dogs and is polite and well-mannered, we do feel Moscatto would truly be happiest as the only pet in the household and who can blame her after being forcibly bred!

She works regularly with one of our trainers on all sorts of tricks and agility games and has perfected her targeting skills where she will place her paw on anything you like on command! Moscatto would love a fenced in yard where she would be just the happiest and sweetest dog around. She has formed some very strong bonds with many of our volunteers so if you like a soulful and connected dog, one who has lived a little bit, but holds no grudges at all, has a lot of pep, intelligence, and tons of affection to give, MEET MOSCATTO ASAP.
