My name is Sophie but sometimes my foster parents call me Bunny because I'm so cute and fur is really soft! I am 4 years young and had a rough start to life, but I'm ready now for my forever home! I'm a pup that knows a few things, like how to sit, shake, down, leave it, stay, drop it, and I'm working on sit pretty (wow, I'm pretty smart)! I'm crate trained and potty trained, too!! I am working on keeping all my feet on the ground when I say hello so kids over 10 would be best. I took a few agility classes and really fell in love, so maybe that is something that we could do together? I really love to cuddle with my foster brothers so a calm, male canine companion would be great for me :) Are you ready to meet me yet?!

*Due to the location of our volunteers, foster homes and training resources, all potential adopters need to be within 2 hours of Chicago or Peoria, IL.

Sophie is being fostered in western IL. Please email info@savethepitbull.org today to meet gorgeous Sophie!!

# Assist the public with spay/neuter
# Fight against breed-specific legislation
# Help other rescue organizations and/or individuals by courtesy posting their dogs on our site
# Screen applications for other organizations

# Combat dog fighting
# Promote a positive image and understanding of all bully breeds

Come Meet Our Pets...

A submitted application is required to meet any of the pets. Animals are located in foster homes throughout the Greater Chicagoland and central IL areas. Please read the animal's bio carefully to find out where they are located.

Our Adoption Process...

http://dbmb-il.petfinder.com/

The MINIMUM adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs and $350 for puppies. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the dogs while in foster care. All dogs are altered, current on shots, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested (and treated if necessary), and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out.

Why do we charge an adoption fee?
We are all volunteers and as such receive no monetary compensation for our work with the dogs. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the dogs. Adoption fees never cover all the costs that are put into that individual dog, so additional donations are greatly appreciated.
