Sam2's Story...
Hi my name is Sam. I was found looking for food on the porch of a nice lady who would feed us. She knew there had to be a better life for me so she called a volunteer with St Francis and they came to get me and take care of me until I get adopted. I am a little shy at first. But once I get to know you and my new home I like to follow you around. I really like canned food too. I do like to be picked up and held. I also like to cuddle with you for a nap and enjoy being petted while sitting with you. I am still startled by strange noises and new things, but not for long. My brother has already been adopted. I am waiting for my forever human to come and adopt me now. I am a really sweet boy with lots and lots of love and purrs to give. It takes me awhile to get use to other cats so long as they are calm. But I dont mind the dogs in my foster home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam2, a Tampa American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Tampa, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
