My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marlie's foster mom describes her as "my dream dog". She goes on to gush that "...Marlie is the most friendly, affectionate and genuinely excited-about-the-whole-world dog I've ever met. She seeks attention and affection from her people and bonds to them instantly. In short, Marlie is a one-of-a-kind-dog and needs a one-of-a-kind-family who will appreciate and understand that they are very lucky to have one of the best dogs I've ever met." What a glowing recommendation! And every word of it is true. Marlie IS a gem. She was more like a diamond in the rough when she was first rescued wandering along a road in a Dallas suburb. Marlie was caked in mud, mold and infested with fleas. Exhaustive efforts were made to locate Marlie's owner, but to no avail. More often than not, these former owners do not want to be found. Not to worry, a dog as special as Marlie deserves a much more special home, and we're going to find just that for her. Marlie has been to the vet for "the works": spay, shots, worming, heartworm test (which was negative) and she has begun monthly heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of Marlie's vet visit. Marlie was born some time last summer, so she still has a little bit of growing to do. Labradors are very intelligent, high-energy dogs, so Marlie needs a new family who will continue the obedience training she has already started at home and who have an active lifestyle that Marlie can be a part of. A tired dog is a happy, content dog, so Marlie will need sufficient exercise each day to help burn off that natural Lab energy. Marlie would love to have a friendly, equally-active doggie buddy in her new home. She is also very gentle and generally uninterested in cats, so feline friends would be ok, too. To know Marlie is to love her. If you are ready to love and care for Marlie for the rest of her life, please click on this link to complete our adoption application form today: www.tassieshope.org
