Pilot's Story...
Hey there! My name's Pilot, what's yours? I was found as a stray wandering around a truck stop on the highway. Some nice people were able to catch me and bring me to safety. Now I'm here looking for my forever home! They're guessing I'm around 9 months old, and am a boxer mix. I'm a very sweet boy, and LOVE to run and play! I'm up to date on shots, neutered, and have a microchip. Now all I need is someone to love me and take me home! Could that someone be YOU?

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pilot, a Youngwood Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
