My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Yogi is a delightful character who came to us from a regional Humane Society that asked for our Eskie expertise in finding his forever home. Yogi seemed to have a gentle, comical, Mr Magoo-like cluelessness, as he puzzled his way through the rescue process.

Yogi had been overfed in his former home, and his weight seemed to slow him and cause a lethargy that we don't usually see in Eskies! As he settled into foster care, we switched him to a high quality grain free kibble that helped him shed a few pounds and improved his energy level. His new foster mom added a vitamin supplement that really put some pep in his step! Now, Yogi is zooming around the yard like a proper Eskie.

Yogi 's adopters should continue him on a nutritious, grain free diet, rich in high quality protein and omega fats, as well as a vitamin supplement to maintain the good health that his foster mom has achieved. Yogi is a relatively young dog, 6 years old. Healthy diet and exercise will add quality years to his life.

Yogi is a total sweetheart. He has completely charmed his foster mom, who claims that he is one of the easiest dogs she has handled. Yogi has blended in beautifully to her multi-dog and cat household, and his neutral energy compliments her senior pack members, as well as her younger, more active dogs. Yogi could easily join any kind of home with moderately active folks, who can provide at least a couple of brisk leash walks a day.

Yogi is extremely easy to handle on lead, and responds well to basic commands. He would benefit from formal obedience training and is sociable enough to excel in a multi-dog course setting. Yogi has excellent house manners, and is housetrained and crate trained. He is an enthusiastic, yet well-behaved car passenger, and not overly reactive to stressors like gas station and toll booth attendants.

Yogi is in excellent health , and is a robust, small standard Eskie, weighing 30 pounds. His goal weight should probably be about 26. He has been neutered and vaccinated for routine shots. He has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. If you are interested in Yogi, please call Denise at 720-903-0636 or email Denise@eskiesonline.com for an adoption application.
