My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The very first thing that Jada the Standard Schnauzer/Terrier mix wants to make clear is that she's a love! In this sad shelter photo, you're not aware of the sweet presence and the striking golden and chestnut colors that run through Jada's gorgeous coat - with grooming, care and great nutrition, Jada's non-shedding hair will show its gorgeous colors. Everything is new to Jada...her adorable little nose sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then before you know it, Jada is in your lap or next to you on the couch. She's so happy there because her human relationships are so important to her. We have to remember that Jada is just a baby...not quite 4 months old and 18 lbs (Jada is anticipated to be about 40 lbs when full grown). She's therefore a blank slate just waiting to be lovingly taught about proper behavior in the home and out in the world. In spite of coming from a very tough and challenging shelter, Jada has the positive attitude and openness of the puppy that she is. Once she knows that all is well, she'll snuggle close with all the love that lives inside of her. Jada lights up when she feels like she's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send her over the moon. Jada is such a sweet people pup... and with the consistency of a committed home, she will grow all the more engaging and confident. We envision Jada with an active retired couple or individual who love spending time with an amazing dog. We can also see Jada with a family with gentle, older kids who want an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. She would be so excited to spend her days in the company of her favorite people. Being a Standard SchnauzerX, Jada loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation (she's such a smart puppy!). She would be a natural in positive reinforcement group obedience classes.. She would love the challenge and is so bright and wanting to please that she would excel. Jada would also be overjoyed to hike along gorgeous Colorado trails..enjoying the sunshine, physical activity and time with her people. Jada's nature is to be a very joyful and sometimes silly puppy...so much fun to play with and cuddle at the end of the day.
Jada is a combination of 2 non-shedding breeds and appears to be a non-shedding dog as well. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her gorgeous coat healthy, shiny and matt-free.

Jada will be arriving on transport in Denver on 8/8. If interested in this exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
