Travis's Story...
"Who's the loving, gentle, and darling dog that's waiting for you at the El Cajon Animal Shelter? Why, it's me, TRAVIS. I'm a 10-month-old terrier mix with a pleasant, and somewhat sensitive, disposition, so it takes me a couple minutes to warm up to a new friend. Once I know you and trust you, I'll be your devoted pal for life. I'm sure to be a cherished member of the family, and I'd do best in a home where the kids are older and considerate of me. I get along nicely with other dogs, and I'm quite respectful. The shelter staff is fairly certain that I've already been house trained, but I might need a quick refresher course when I get to my new home. I'd probably do well in either a house or an apartment, and I'd need to go for a walk each day to be at my best. I like to chase after toys, so I'd love to have a little yard in my new home. Please come on over to the shelter so we can spend some time getting to know each other better in the nice play yard that they have here. I think you'll find that I'm the little dog that you've been searching for. Love, Travis" Kennel #9

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Travis, a El Cajon Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
