Choco's Story...
"If you're looking for one of the most loving and gentle dogs that ever walked this earth, then I'm your boy. My name is CHOCO, and I'm a seven-year-old Boxer who's here at the shelter because my owner had to move to a new home where dogs are not allowed. I'm sad and confused, as you can imagine, but I know in my heart that a wonderful person or family out there will find me and love me forever. I get along great with everybody, so I'd be an excellent family pet, and I get along nicely with other dogs. I've already been house trained, I sit on command, and I'm very respectful to everyone. While I'm pretty mellow, I'll want to go on a daily walk. Fortunately, I walk very nicely on a leash. I'm truly a handsome gentleman, and I'm ready to start my new life with you. Won't you please come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter? We can sit under a lovely shade tree out in the play yard, then you'll have a chance to see why I'm such a lovable guy. I hope to see you soon. Love, Choco" Kennel #5

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Choco, a El Cajon Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
