My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Barnaby! My owner got sick and could no longer care for me so the good folks at Midwest BREW came to get me and are helping me find my new forever home. So, I should probably start by dealing with the "elephant in the room". I am absolutely, positively, incredibly ADORABLE!!! There! I said it! I know we were all thinking it so now it's out in the open. Whew! But, there's so much more to me than just my handsome looks.

Even though I'm an older guy, I love to wrestle and run around with my three beagle foster brothers. I really enjoy having other dogs to play with or even just to hang around so I would love to have a home with another dog. My foster mom does think I would do okay in a home as an "only dog" as well though.

I'm a sweet and gentle boy who likes to cuddle up next to you and get pats and loves and hugs and kisses. I even give sweet little kisses back. My kisses are wonderful - affectionate and with just the right amount of slobber. I enjoy being fussed over by foster mom - having my belly rubbed and being snuggled. I even like it when she calls me silly names like Snuggly Buggly or Shnoogly Boogly. I always give her a sweet look and wag my tail even though she sometimes calls me these ridiculous names in public - in front of other dogs! It's embarrassing but I take it like the macho guy that I am.

I am completely housebroken and I've earned the privilege of having run of the house when foster mom has to go somewhere. I generally stay off the furniture and bed unless I'm invited up but I do sometimes sneak up when you're not looking so I can get nice and close and get patted.

My energy level is about medium. Some days I really enjoy playing and wrestling a lot and other days I like to just hang out and relax. I like to go for walks and I generally walk nicely on my harness but sometimes I get excited by another dog, someone on a bike, or a good smell and I will pull pretty hard. Foster mom and I are working on that together. I have a pretty loud beagle bark which would probably not go over really well if you live in an apartment. Overall, there are a lot of things to love about me.

Would you want to make my tail wag like crazy by giving me my forever home?
