My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barley is a very sweet, 3 year old, spayed, female Newfoundland. She had a very ruff early life. She was chained up outside all alone, she received very little attention and very little care. Now she is potty trained, up to date on vaccinations and she’s on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Barley has had ACL surgery on both of her back legs and her tail had to be cropped because she chewed it out of boredom in her previous life. She’s completed 6-weeks of physical therapy to get her back in shape and she will probably need to continue some of the exercises in her new home. She’ll require a lot of exercise, a high quality diet and supplements.

Barley seeks lots of attention and she sometimes jumps up on people. She’s working on that bad habit. She learns fast and she knows the word no. She follows her people around and she sleeps quietly by their bed for the entire night. She loves going for car rides, being with people and playing with other dogs. She is not at all good with cats. She has no problems with wood/tile floors or stairs. Barley will make a wonderful dog for someone who has a large yard, a comfortable lap for her head, hands willing to do a lot of petting and hugging, and a big heart to match hers. She’s really a sweet, beautiful girl who would love a home where she gets a lot of exercise, attention and one with another dog or two.

Our adoption fee is $300.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
