Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Frankie is a Courtesy Listing - He is a Semi-Urgent Owner Surrender that needs placement in a Foster or Forever Home as soon as possible.
Frankie is about 9 month old and currently weighs 77lbs, though due to his breed mix, it's not unlikely he will hit 90 lbs at maturity.
He is mostly German Shepherd and malamute, and has the friendly and curious personality of both. He's had limited training, knows some basic commands "sit, lay down, wait" but needs more training. Walks great on a leash, does not pull or try to lead unless if he's scared by something on the walk. He's working on potty training, and picking up on it quickly but has still had a few accidents.
He's had limited exposure to other animals and people/children, but from what the current owner has seen, he is very people friendly. With new dogs, he is playful if initially a little unsure. He probably needs more positive socialization with other dogs to overcome this initial hesitation. He is OK with cats, but is very curious about them, so a household with a dog-savvy cat would be a must. With continued training he should be fine living in a household with cats.
While he has not shown any aggression towards people or other animals., he is skittish to loud sudden noises, and he hates thunder.
Frankie loves water and will not hesitate to jump into a creek or pond.
He's currently working on crate training, so far he's picking up on it. Frankie is an escape artist, if fenced outside the fence needs to be secure and TALL, Frankie is extremely strong and creative when it comes to trying to escape. Similarly, the crate needs to be reinforced or locked, or he will figure out how to open it.
Frankie is very lovable and affectionate and has a desire to please, very trainable. Rides great in the car, he will just lay down and fall asleep. Frankie does have some separation anxiety. He needs an experienced and active owner.
