My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Liam was in a rural shelter that was filled beyond capacity. Dogs were doubled and tripled up in cages (Liam shared his with a chihuahua). Liam needed out fast! Dusty Paws met his transport and took him into foster home #1. There he met Ellie - instant attraction, they frolicked like the pups they still were. Both are barely a year old.

It was soon noted that Liam was not able to bear weight on one back leg. Modified hip surgery was needed to correct an old injury and Liam was moved to another foster home to recover on July 19. The surgery that he had called for almost immediate exercise afterward, graduating quickly from simple walks to longer hikes on varying terrain, in order to build up his leg muscle. With a great attitude and a little help from his friends Liam is progressing wonderfully, already able to gallop with all four paws touching ground.

At 60 lbs, Liam is a smallish Lab mix . He is so sweet and so friendly, loving and smart. He is an easygoing, happy dog who loves to be around people. He is good with children and with other dogs, even with cats. He is also house trained and will come to you when called. He may always have a slight limp, but apart from that he is the most perfect dog you can imagine!

Vet's recommendation is that Liam should be trim and active for life, encouraged to get as much exercise as he can handle. Liam recently went on a 3-day camping trip and had a blast. So we're looking for an active, fun-loving family for him to join.
