Ginny's Story...
Ginny is a beautiful white female age 7 and came to us weighing 67 pounds. Now Ginny is doing great! She has a great appetite, has put some weight on and you can no longer count her ribs! She enjoys playing fetch with balls, tugging on rope toys but hasn't chewed a single thing that she shouldn't. She is well mannered and seems to understand several commands (sit, down, stay, go lie down, etc...). She is a very loving girl who likes to cuddle up to you and lay her head in your lap. She follows her humans from room to room and seems to enjoy their company as much as the company of her chiweenie foster brother. She is great with kids and while she will bark if the doorbell rings, she hasn't tried to jump on anyone coming through the door. She still pulls a little on the leash, but continued training will most likely curb that. She enjoys an occasional swim in the pool, but only when 'invited'. She seems to get along well with cats. Overall, I think she would be a great addition to any home and has a flexible and adaptable personality.

If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at www.DLRRphoenix.org. Someone will call to schedule a home visit so you can become an approved adopter. Also, visit our wonderful Facebook page at www.facebook/desertlab. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginny, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
