Pretty DSH White with Gray Female FIV+

Maddie is a very pretty 3 yr old short-haired white with Grey mask and mantle markings female. She is can be sweet and enjoys being petted on her terms, but gets over stimulated easily and can get a little grouchy and nippy.  She is very playful and in a home environment, regular play could help her release some of her pent up nervous energy.  She is FIV+ which is the feline immunovirus. It is only contagious to other cats.  It means her immune system is a little weaker than average, but most cats with FIV live long healthy lives if they are in a safe, indoor only, calm environment .  They have been adopted with other FIV+ cats and many people have adopted FIV+ cats who have non-FIV cats without their non-FIV cats contracting it.  Please discuss with your Veterinarian to help you decide.  There is a vaccination for FIV that you can discuss with you Veterinarian as well.  She does not care for other cats (perhaps because her roommates are all boys ;>), but tolerates her FIV roommates as long as they don't bother her.   She would prefer to be the only cat, but might be O.K. with other cats in a large enough environment. We don't know about dogs.  Because she can get a tiny bit grouchy when she's over stimulated, she should not be around younger children, but might be O.K. with calm, older children who can give her some space.  Come meet this pretty girl.

About Angels With Paws

About Our Shelter...

We believe ALL animals have the right to life.
Angels with Paws 501c3 charity runs a mostly cage-free, Limited Intake Rescue Shelter that since opening in 2004 has provided over 9,500 homeless, unwanted, abused, neglected and abandoned cats, kittens (and some dogs through foster care) with rescue, Veterinary and other care, rehab and a place to live until they are adopted. Many of them are injured, ill, disabled, and older and would be turned away or put down by other shelters. For these animals Angels with Paws is their last hope. This is amazing work considering we operate out of a converted Fast Food building, have very limited resources, few volunteers, no promotion, and no on-site Veterinarian. We educate the public on responsible pet ownership, and offer advice in caring for pets with the hope that they can be kept in their own homes instead of being relinquished to a shelter, the need to Spay/Neuter and the cruelty of declawing.

Angels with Paws does not receive any Government, Corporate or any regular funding. We do not have an on-site Veterinarian, and have to pay for our Veterinary Care and Supplies. Nearly all of our funding comes from private donations.

Our dream is to see the day when no adoptable animal will be euthanized.
