My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that is dismal, not the most sanitary environment and quickly runs out of space. This is the situation that Asher was put into at 7 weeks old. It's not unusual to see opportunistic breeding with Goldens ...and if all doesn't go perfectly...out they go into the street or to a high-kill shelter. Such was the case with Asher when it was found that he was allergic to fleas...and fleas in Houston in the summer is an inevitable state of affairs. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Asher...she could see that his temperament was so loving and sweet that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Asher was immediately brought to be vetted - he was pronounced a healthy baby who needed a clean home where fleas weren't an issue. He was brought to be fostered...and with love, soothing baths, healthy food and a spotless, insect-free spot..his skin has healed and his nickname has become Hairy Man! His coat has grown into a cottony battle-ship gray..so beautiful! It turns out that Asher, at only 2 months old, is so wonderful and cooperative that it's been a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom. He's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Asher continues to be properly socialized, he will become a well-adjusted and devoted adult companion. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-behaved guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Asher. Since he will be approximately 40 - 45 lbs when full-grown, we also feel it's very important that Asher is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will be a perfect size to enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Asher can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere.
Asher will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to his very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Asher's neuter, microchip and any additional puppy shots he might require if our vet is used.
Asher is being fostered in Denver. If interested in this sweet puppy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
