Gravy's Story...
My name is Gravy and I am special needs. I am a purebred Great Pyrenees puppy born in July of 2007. Of course, when you are a Great Pyrenees, even young dog like me weighs about 70lbs and will likely be over 100lbs when I am full-grown. My sister Gravy and I were purchased to be livestock guardians. Unfortunately, my owner didn’t understand how to properly train us. He just put us out with the sheep when we were tiny puppies and expected us to know what to do. So until we were 7 months old, we had absolutely no human contact. We didn’t even see people, since he didn’t visit us and there were no other people around. Needless to say, we are both very timid. A staff member at the BCFFA is working with us on leash training and socializing, but we will need and owner who can give us lots of attention and extra work we need. It would probably be best if we were placed separately, to allow us to bond with our new owners. We are both good with other dogs. We have not displayed any aggression toward children, but we need to be placed with older kids, due to our size and timid natures. No cats please. In order to insure my new owners can properly feeed and take medical care og a large dog my adoption fee is 400. Please email teddirescue@yahoo.com for an application.

Gravy, a Manassas Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Manassas, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Manassas.

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manassas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manassas paves the way for another one to be saved.
